Been awhile since I've posted blah blah. Today's post is dedicated to Disney's upcoming 2-D animated feature The Princess and the Frog.

Before I go too in depth on the subject of today lets view the trailer.

Tell me that doesn't look good?

Now, I have a theory that Prince Naveen is somewhat based off the 1920s icon Rudolf Valentineo. For those of you who don't know Rudy he was probably one of the most iconic actors back in his day and was adored by women mostly because of his role in the movie The Sheik. The Sheik is such an iconic film at the time that the word sheik was used to describe a handsome man

Now lets talk about how important this film is to cinematic animation.

In 2004 Disney's animated studios closed it's doors down for good after the failure of Treasure Planet and Home on the Range.Instead of blaming the movies failures on bad story telling it was blamed on the fact 2D was something of the past and 3D movies is what people wanted to see. This was more decided on the fact that the 3D films were bringing in more dough then 2D films.Sadly when Disney decided never to do 2D films everyone follows to that example. I'm guessing the 3D films that were making the money was of course Pixar. You want to know why Pixar does so well? It's because Pixar movies are the closest thing we got to what Disney used to be. Pixar is all about creating films for everyone enjoy. I am certain that if Disney himself was alive he would be proud of all the Pixar films.

The Princess and the Frog might be the final straw to tell if 2D animation is dead or not. If the movie fails I have a feeling that this will be the last 2D film by Disney for a long time if not forever. If you care about the future of animation at all see this movie even if it doesn't look appealing to you. If this movie does extremely well then it will bring back the Disney we all know and love.

If you were a little girl in the 90s chances are you caught a glimpse of Sailor Moon. I was a fan of the series myself and I share fond memories pretending be a Sailor Scout with my friends. If you are feeling nostalgic and I'm sure you are and you want something to laugh at then I have the thing for you. The Sailor Moon Abridged Series. You'll laugh and you'll cry. Well more likely the former, but if you remember the English dub in the 90s I'm almost certain you'll enjoy this.

Here is a little something about me. Ocelots are my favorite animal. Not that they do anything interesting I just love them. They remind of house cats this is probably the main reason why I like them. In encountered something awhile back that I would like to share with you all even though its not something that a lot of people will like.

It's an Ocelot fur coat. It takes 16 Ocelots to make just one fur coat and frankly I think it's disgusting. I don't like fur coats in the first place I find them very tacky and in bad taste. I have no problem with fur being used when it is needed to keep warm in parts of the world where there is no alternative but for those who buy fur because its fashionable is disgusting.

Now for some facts on Ocelots.

Scientific name: Leopardis pardalis

Status: Endangered but it is labeled as least concerned

Litter Size - 2 average

Life Span - 8-11 years Domestic ones can live to 20.

Habitat: Tropical forests.Solitary.

BEHAVIOR:
Ocelots are strongly nocturnal, resting in trees or dense brush during the day. Ocelots are very active, traveling from one to five miles per night. Males usually travel further than females. They capture an average of one prey item for every 3.1 hours of travel.

DIET:Ocelots are carnivores, they hunt and eat animals such as rodents, rabbits, young deer, birds, snakes and fish.

THREATS:Habitat destruction for agriculture, hunting for their fur, pet trade.

Many people when they see these guys want them as a pet. This is highly discouraged because no matter how much they look like your typical house cat they are still a wild animal. There is good news though an Ocicat which is bred to look like an Ocelot can make a very nice pet.

It has been awhile since I've done a book review and I can honestly say I'm behind. I've read several books that I would like to share with you all but lets focus on only one for today.

White Oleander is a beautiful book all around.The writing is richly poetic and draws you in right away. The book starts out with the young Astrid who is the spitting image of her fierce mother Ingrid. Ingrid is a bit of a cold woman who despises weakness of any kind. All goes somewhat well in Ingrid's and Astrid's life till Ingrid meets a persistent man focused on wooing Ingrid. Ingrid finds this man highly below her standards but she end up falling in love with him. The couple lives in bliss for a short time till the man grows tired of Ingrid and breaks her heart. Rejected and humiliated Ingrid sets off to get revenge on the man and does something that sends her off to jail.With no one to care for Astrid she is sent off to become a foster child pushed around from household to household where she encounters different women that help shape her into the woman she is at the very end of the book. This book is just beautiful in so many way but it is a very gritty book in some parts so you've been warned. I would give this book ****1/2 out of *****

Woo! I'm finally out for the Summer and you know what that means. Time to have some fun.

I was in need for a new bathing suit ,but while shopping I found it very to find a bathing suit top that covers. This may be a personal matter but am I the only one frustrated by design of most bathing suit tops. Well if you are over a B cup you know what I mean. Its hard to find something that you are not going pop out of every 5 seconds. Well then again I'm a very active girl so I suppose if you are the lounging type this would not be a problem. Remembering Anne Frank

It is rarity to find such a book that truly depicts the struggle and thoughts of a young girl learning to become a young lady in the all so puzzling adult world. Anne Frank of course was able to depict all that one must go through growing up. Anne did not do this intentionally though all she did was write her inner and most personal thoughts into a diary that she called kitty.

The Diary of Anne Frank to me is the perfect book that truly demonstrates the journey a young girl must go through in order to become a young woman in the world. Many books have tried to tackle this subject but none to me have never been as successful as Anne's story. This may be because this is not at all fiction it is from the mind of a young girl who was going through the journey the same time she was writing in her diary.

It is heartbreaking to learn that this inspirational,lively, and intelligent girl came to an untimely death. One must wonder would Anne be pleased to know that her dream of being a writer had come true and that boys and girls from all over the world have partaken on her journey? Would she have been as widely known if she had lived and went on to live her life? Perhaps not but is safe to say that her little Diary has been able to live the life she never got a chance to exactly finish.

I must say that if you are one of those who have not read Anne's story I highly suggest you go off and get yourself a copy now. There is a reason why it is still considered a classic now and I almost certain that it is in fact the most famous diary ever to be known.

Why is she such an inspiration to me?

I think the reason why Anne is such an inspiring person is because she still had hope even in the darkest of times she tried to find light in everything. She was also quite modern for her time as well. She once stated in the diary that she just wouldn't be very happy just being a housewife and that she wanted to do so much more. I always wonder what her life would of been if she had in fact survived. There is just something that is so very enchanting about Anne that makes you feel that she could very well be your best friend or yourself even.

Anne was often criticized by those around her for being to air headed or much to forward by those around her. She at times felt like the outcast in the bunch but even then she saw no reason to change herself to fit her standards. She would often freely speak her mind with few regrets. I think there is something we can all learn from Anne even if it is something as little as finding a bit of light in everything.

Sunday, June 14, 1942

I'll begin from the moment I got you, the moment I saw you lying on the table among my other birthday presents. (I went along when you were bought, but that doesn't count.)

On Friday, June 12, I was awake at six o'clock, which isn't surprising, since it was my birthday. But I'm not allowed to get up at that hour, so I had to control my curiosity until quarter to seven. When I couldn't wait any longer, I went to the dining room, where Moortje (the cat) welcomed me by rubbing against my legs.

A little after seven I went to Daddy and Mama and then to the living room to open my presents, and you were the first thing I saw, maybe one of my nicest presents. Then a bouquet of roses, some peonies and a potted plant. From Daddy and Mama I got a blue blouse, a game, a bottle of grape juice, which to my mind tastes a bit like wine (after all, wine is made from grapes), a puzzle, a jar of cold cream, 2.50 guilders and a gift certificate for two books. I got another book as well, Camera Obscura (but Margot already has it, so I exchanged mine for something else), a platter of homemade cookies (which I made myself, of course, since I've become quite an expert at baking cookies), lots of candy and a strawberry tart from Mother. And a letter from Grammy, right on time, but of course that was just a coincidence.

Then Hanneli came to pick me up, and we went to school. During recess I passed out cookies to my teachers and my class, and then it was time to get back to

work. I didn't arrive home until five, since I went to gym with the rest of the class. (I'm not allowed to take part because my shoulders and hips tend to get dislocated.) As it was my birthday, I got to decide which game my classmates

would play, and I chose volleyball. Afterward they all danced around me in a

circle and sang "Happy Birthday." When I got home, Sanne Ledermann was already there. Ilse Wagner, Hanneli Goslar and Jacqueline van Maarsen came home with me after gym, since we're in the same class. Hanneli and Sanne used to be my two best friends. People who saw us together used to say, "There goes Anne, Hanne and Sanne." I only met Jacqueline van Maarsen when I started at the Jewish Lyceum, and now she's my best friend. Ilse is Hanneli's best friend, and Sanne goes to another school and has friends there.

They gave me a beautiful book, Dutch Sagas and Legends, but they gave me Volume II by mistake, so I exchanged two other books for Volume I. Aunt Helene brought me a puzzle, Aunt Stephanie a darling brooch and Aunt Leny a terrific book: Daisy Goes to the Mountains.

This morning I lay in the bathtub thinking how wonderful it would be if I had a dog like Rin Tin Tin. I'd call him Rin Tin Tin too, and I'd take him to school with me, where he could stay in the janitor's room or by the bicycle racks when the weather was good.

Wow it's been like a month since I've been on here. I must say I'm terribly busy and my lack of updates has nothing to do with not having anything to post. Believe me I have a lot of things I could put on here without taking things from my life. I just have a lot of things I have to get done that really depend on my future. Like getting good grades,getting a job,trying to get money to go to the school of my dreams,getting my license, and hopefully getting enough money to take that trip to California.

Gosh all the things I could post I just don't know where to start. Well today I took the ACT test. Oh what fun that is. I hope I did well on it. -crosses fingers- Even though I did well enough on the practice test to go to the schools I want to go I still want to do better.

I think I will go on to a much overdue book review. This time I read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. Now I'm going to say this up front I love the movie even though it's a bit cheesy but I honestly can't say the same for the book. The book was just such a drag to get through and I really wanted to like it but there was just nothing for me to connect with. It may be because I'm not the most romantic person in the world so I kind of roll my eyes when things become to sappy. I also might not like the book because of how superior the movie was. This is probably one of the few cases where a movie surpasses the book. It seems like anything in the book that was in the book that was descent was tweaked and fixed anything else that was wrong with the book. Like the first 30 to 40 minutes of the movie only had one page if that in the book. I suppose I should stop ranting and tell you all about the plot and all that jazz. Due to the fact I'm really not in the mood I'll just take what the back of the book says.

In 1932, two North Carolina teenagers from opposite sides of the tracks fall in love. Spending one idyllic summer together in the small town of New Bern, Noah Calhoun and Allie Nelson do not meet again for 14 years. Noah has returned from WWII to restore the house of his dreams, having inherited a large sum of money. Allie, programmed by family and the "caste system of the South" to marry an ambitious, prosperous man, has become engaged to powerful attorney Lon Hammond. When she reads a newspaper story about Noah's restoration project, she shows up on his porch step, re-entering his life for two days. Will Allie leave Lon for Noah? The book's slim dimensions and cliche-ridden prose will make comparisons to The Bridges of Madison County inevitable. What renders Sparks's (Wokini: A Lakota Journey of Happiness and Self-Understanding) sentimental story somewhat distinctive are two chapters, which take place in a nursing home in the '90s, that frame the central story. The first sets the stage for the reading of the eponymous notebook, while the later one takes the characters into the land beyond happily ever after, a future rarely examined in books of this nature. Early on, Noah claims that theirs may be either a tragedy or a love story, depending on the perspective. Ultimately, the judgment is up to readers?be they cynics or romantics. For the latter, this will be a weeper.

Yeah, I think I'm going to start rating books and this book for me gets a 1 and 1/2 out of 5. Just go watch the movie people.

Last Tuesday night I saw an extraordinary performance of Phantom of the Opera. It was nothing short of exceptional and I loved every moment of it. I had only seen the 2004 movie version before seeing this and I must say the first half of the musical was almost exactly like the fist half of the movie but the second half was different and I must say I rather much prefer it. Raoul which I affectionately named Pretty Boy is much more bearable in the musical version then in the movie version. Oh gosh I just loved it so amazing.

This is a musical not an Opera because an Opera would require singing only and not dialogue. Sorry I'm so sick of people trying to correct me on this matter.

Also when I mean I separated the movie into halves I mean I already could tell without even knowing about the musical where an intermission would be. Anything before masquerade is the first half anything after it well is obviously the second.

First ten minutes of the 2004 movie. The chandelier scene is amazing. You can watch the whole move on YouTube apparently but I'd rather much suggest you rent it instead.

Doesn't it look gorgeous oh god how can Disney fail. It looks nothing short of superd well except that annoying firefly has to go.

Oh god I know I'm totally fangirling out here but I LOVE DISNEY MOVIES! Well the older ones anyways. The only good one Disney had from the 2000s was Lilo and Stich. I love that movie and I also kind of liked Atlantis the problem with those was they were not musicals. Pixar is not being counted along in the 2000s because they just can't make a bad film. -cough- in my opinion they should be the only ones allowed to make any 3-d film. Disney sucks when they make a film on their own and Dreamworks should go back and make the 2-D films Disney won't touch. Dreamworks here is an idea go make a 2-D film on Cleopatra or something. Go on roll with it. People are getting sick of 3-D.

I am so excited. I've been keeping up on this movie ever since I heard about it. I hope it does good because that will mean more will be made -squee-. I also want it to wind best animated picture at the Oscars next year because that will encourage more 2-D films to be made. Sorry Pixar you had a good run though. Wouldn't it be great if The Princess and the Frog was like the Little Mermaid of the 2000s and would start maybe a miniature Disney Renaissance again. Oh please Disney don't fail me on this one. If it's good I promise I'll buy a whole bunch of merchandise like The Princess and the Frog bedsheets. Hey I'll need new sheets for college right? I know this is totally a way to relive my childhood. Brings me back to the day when my room had a mixture of Beauty and the Beast things along with The Little Mermaid. Love both those movies by the way I have both Special edition dvds. Oh Disney don't fail me now.

Ok Cars may not be my favorite Pixar movie but it was defiantly watchable.I mean is Pixar can make a film about Cars work what can't they do. If they make Cars 2 work they should get some special award or something. I wonder will this be their first flop?

The Bear and the Bow (2011)

First year Pixar releases 2 movies in the same year and this is the first fantasy movie for Pixar.

"Set in a "rugged and mythic Scotland", the movie tells of Merida (Reese Witherspoon), a royal daughter and archer whose reckless choice has dire consequences for her father's (Billy Connolly) kingdom and her mother (Emma Thompson). "Nature, magic, and an ancient curse" all figure here in this "action-adventure" piece, which marks the biggest Pixar credit for Brenda Chapman, the veteran Disney story writer and story supervisor who co-directed The Prince of Egypt at DreamWorks. Writing credits have yet to be settled. Expect to see this in theaters around November 2011."

Oh yeah I love the movie already.

Newt (2012)

centered on Newt and Brooke, the last two blue-footed newts on Earth. They're supposed to save the species for science, but they can't stand each other. The romantic comedy's premise does sound one-note, which was true but forgivable of writer-director Gary Rydstrom's debut, the 2006 short Lifted. Voice actors haven't yet been announced for the pampered Newt and streetwise Brooke, but the film will open in the summer of 2012, having swapped years with Cars 2.

Sounds Promising well it's Pixar so it can't be bad.

King of Elves (2012)

I heard that this will be either done in 3-D or 2-D. I'm not sure what to believe yet so I guess we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

I've heard rumors of Disney making a movie out of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson(Same guy who wrote the Little Mermaid). The idea of it just make me squee. I love The Snow Queen I think it just might be my favorite story by Hans Christian Anderson. Disney won't also have to Disnefy the ending as well because it's not as nearly as depressing as The Little Mermaid's ending.

ugh and I've also heard rumors about a Kiki's Delivery Service made into live action. Oh god I'm going to kill the person who thought up that idea. Kik's Delivery Service was one of my favorite movies as a child. Kiki's delivery surface was originally a Hayao Miyazaki production the same guy who made Spirited Away.

The Apple Tree/Watchmen/Random

I wrote a poem. Its not the greatest thing ever written it is just basically an Aesop fable only told in poem form. I hope you enjoy it.

The Apple Tree

Once Upon a hilltop so high
Sat an apple tree so grand and demure
With long spidery branches that reached to the sky
The apples that grew from such a tree tasted juicy and pure

The Apples that grew from so juicy so pure were often sought after
From those from below and from those above
This so begins a section in the apple tree’s life chapter
A story known by all creatures even the bashful turtledove

It happened on a solemn day they say
When the blossoms of spring past had already gave way to the luscious red fruit
On this day a steadfast steed passed the trees very way
As did a cunning little sparrow with the voice of a flute

On this fall day only one apple hung from the branches limb
The apple clung to the branches so dear
Both stead and sparrow followed the very same whim
They both sought after the apple making the situation quite clear

There the two creatures stood not willing to abate to the other ones will
They both longed for the apple to make it their own
Both creatures stood ready to move in for the kill
While the apple still clung on the branch lingering there all alone

The sparrow planned to pluck the apple from its occupying limb
The stead planned to obtain the fruit by shaking the tree to its very foundation
With two creatures wanting the apples future looked quite grim
Both unable to rid themselves of the apples temptation

The steed approached the tree’s very trunk to give it a nudge
The tree did sway under the steed’s very prod but the apple stood still
The sparrow attempted to break it free but the apple was unwilling to budge
Neither creature was able to obtain the apple with their own skill

Along came a monstrous wind so hungry so cold
The red apple shook and trembled from the winds cry
The apple kept shaking till no longer could keep hold
With a faint snap the apple became airborne and began to fly

The tiny sparrow scrambled to clasp the apple’s stem between its beak
His attempt was in vain as the apple tumbled to the deathly ground
The steed cried with glee when the sparrow’s attempt came up weak
He danced and he pranced as the apple came down

Through the cruelest of fates that’s never so dear
The precious red fruit bounced of the prancing steed’s tail and down it fell
Stumbling and tumbling down the hilltop from sight to disappear
Biding the sparrow and steed a deserving farewell

Down the apple tumbled down the hill ever so fast
Finding the resting place at a worn out leather boot
Finally the apple’s destination was determined at last
A lad picked up the apple so dear and sampled the juicy red fruit

Neither the sparrow nor seed came up at the winners end
Both creatures foiled by each other’s foolery
Sadly neither creature was able to comprehend
Their own actions at what is known as buffonary

A lesson can be learned from the tale of the sparrow and the steed
You see if each of the creatures had the notion to share
Instead of becoming the slave to their very own greed
The apple could have been cut in two making it all to be fair

I read another book so I suppose its tome for me to review it. This time it was What Girls Learn by Karin Cook.Now I regret to say that I was not very found of this book, I found it to be quite drawn out. Now I didn't hate it in fact I was able to read it without having to put it down. I suppose my problem with the book is that the writing style is quite basic and is not the flowery sort that I'm used to. Also there is the fact that the plot has much to do about nothing. The book tried really hard to be profound and compelling but it just didn't win me over. There were times I was shaking my head over the young girls stupidity and I was a tad bit annoyed with how the book was completely told from Tildan's point of view and the whole time she didn't seem to have anything all that interesting to say.

The book starts off with a 12-year old girl named Tilden and her sister Elizabeth who is younger to her sister by a year who both live with their mother Frances. They are about to move from Atalanta to the outskirts of Long Island all because Frances fell in love with a man named Nick that she met at a wedding. The girls have never met Nick but once they do they find he is a kind and patient man,he needs to be for what lies ahead. Frances has regrettably comes down with breast cancer and puts the bounds of family on trial.

If you want this book go right ahead but it is no must read in my opinion. I know you can currently get a copy for under a dollar on Amazon if you must.

I'm going to do something that I don't do often and that is telling about my day on the actual day it happens. So I got up early today because I went to bed early the night before. Today was supposed to be an open house day for the Art Institute in Denver. Well since I had not the faintest idea where the school was exactly so my mom takes me there and we are already late and then once we find the darn school I forgot one important detail. Denver does not have free parking nor did I have any change for the parking meter. Since it was already a half an hour too late I decided I didn't want to go. My mom decides that since we drove all the way to Denver we might as well do something. She decides that we should go to Cherry Creek mall which is the rich mall. I am sort of annoyed by this. 1.) I feel like a loser for missing the open house. 2.) I only have $7.00 and I'm just not a fan of staring at stuff I can't afford. Once we get there I change my tune because the first store we go into is Urban Outfitters. Now I'm aware that Urban Outfitters is a chain store that rips off of Indie craftspeople but in fact the world does this general so I can't do much about it. I love the furniture they have their and the decorations. I am also quite fond of some of their clothes even though I can't afford them. There is something quite pretentious about the store and the people that work their sadly. It all comes to say look at me I'm so edgy and original. I'm sort of put off by it.

I am about to tell you all an embarrassing story feel free to laugh. While I was in the store I came across all these ceramic vessels shaped like ordinary objects such as glass version of a Gatorade bottle among other items that are naturally perceived as expendable. Now I can see why an artist would go to the task to make ceramic bottle version of a soda bottle but why would you mass produce it? I mean I could go and take a soda bottle wash it so there is no more sticky residue then pain it white and get the same effect. I's also be keeping on e plastic bottle out of the landfills go me. So while I contemplating this I pick up what looks like a ceramic bottle of fabric softener. I was unaware that the cap on top of the bottle came off and this lead to me picking up the bottle in a matter that flung the cap off the bottle shattering it in two. Now I was originally going to just leave it but I felt this since of guilt that I was a complete bitch for breaking their merchandise. I go to the sales clerk thinking that I now have to go and pay for it but it said it was completely fine. The item will probably go into the discount pile now capless or they could superglue the top together since it was a clean break. I know because I put it together after I broke it. I wonder if this goes through anyone elses mind when this happens to them.

Yeah, I totally wanted to leave the store after the incident because I was so embarrassed. My mom says no and that I shouldn't let it bother me. She later asks if I want something and that she'll let me pick out something from the discount portion of the store. I pick out a wonderful black fedora for $10. You have no idea how pleases I am the hat is magnificent. In fact I'm wearing it right now.

After Urban we got to Anthropoligie which owned by the same guy who owns Urban Outfitters. I must say though I love their stuff even though I can't afford it. They also have the incredible displays ever.

More stores we looked through till we ended our day at Johnny Rockets having some delicious burgers.

That is all I have to say on that matter.

I saw The Changeling last night. You know the one with Angelina Jolie who I swear was expecting to get best Actress at the Oscars and that other award show that escapes my mind at the moment. Its so nice to see her in an actual role and not the normal crap she is always in. Brings me back to her Girl Interrupted days. Probably her best acting role by far. She did an amazing job in this movie but for some reason besides the fact on how screwed the people in this movie I just didn't feel a connection and have to say that is seeing it once was enough.

The Changeling Trailer

I got to see another little movie called WATCHMEN. Now I found the movie to be fantastic and compelling but it may not be the same for everyone. I will warn you this is not your typical superhero movie do not go expecting to see anything like Spiderman. This movie goes so much more in depth into the psyche of Superheroes. To put it plainly everyone hero in this movie is screwed in some fashion. Some got got carried away with the power they had and started doing horrible things. Some just don't have any idea how to relate to the citizens they save and bceom emotionelss etc. I will not give away the plot you'll just have to go see it for yourself or you can just go and check out imdb to see.

I will warn you this movie has outsexed and outviolenced Sin City if you've seen it you know what I mean if not well you don't and if you say Sin City was not any of those things then you scare me and should be intensely watched by the authorities.

You Should not see this movie if:

*You do not like extensive foul language
*You can not stand blood and gore (This movie has a lot of it.)
*You have the attention span of a two year old(This movie requires you to pay attention)
*You hate seeing tacky superhero costumes.(The movie has few of those but I'm kidding.)
*You don't like sex scenes (Again movie has those)
*You can't stand Bob Dylan or 60s music. (The movie has a lot of songs that would normally be in movies like this and to tell you the truth its a bit strange.)
*You find changing inkblot masks distracting.( It's butterfly no crayon oh look a bear having a tea party with Mr.Bee.
*You don't like frontal male nudity.(Its there even though its not focused upon. There is way more of it then you see of any female nudity which is highly amusing in my opinion because its always the girls running around naked.
*Those darn smiley faces keep smiling it's annoying (Just something random but yeah I kind of hate those things.

I love the free OnDemand movies. ^_^ To tell you the truth I really didn't know much about Coco Chanel nor have I really been interested in highbrow fashion. I really don't see whats so great about Chanel No.5 because I'm Christine Dior Poison girl. It was decided when I was six that Poison was my favorite perfume when I was trying on my mother's perfumes and its probably not going to change.

The Academy awards

Well if you haven't figured out from past posts I'm a huge movie fan. That's why every year I watch the Academy Awards the biggest night of the year for cinema. I've grown up watching the Oscars and I wouldn't have it no other way. I find it strange that most people are not as enthusiastic about as I am. Its a night that celebrates cinema at its best and gives credit to all those fantastic movies that have been seen through out the year. Most people say the Oscars suck because they are not always accurate on the awards. I honestly don't care because I realize that not everyone has the same taste as me. I love it how emotional people get once they received their award especially the best actress category. If they start crying I tend to get a little teary eyed as well. I know how lame that is but I do.

The 81st Academy award ceremony is one I'll never forget I just loved everything about it. I loved the stage and also how small it was. I loved the music that was being played through out the ceremony like sing sing sing, Moon River and the Gone With The Wind music. I loved how the awards were presented and in my opinion it should be done that for now on.

Wonderful Friday,How to survive a horror movie and more

Yesterday my school had an assembly and me not really having a liking for assemblies I ditched along with my friends. It was quite easy in fact especially since I had the hour before the assembly off. We walked down to the park by our school and spent a fulfilled half hour there. Then we decided to walk all the way down to a Wendy's that wasn't so far from our school. On the way I found all these miniature origami birds. I think I found about 13 or 14 in total. Pretty awesome. I'm curious who made all these tiny cranes. So when we reached Wendy's we only had three dollars and so many cents. With that we were able to buy a chocolate frosty and fries. The guy behind the counter was awesome enough to give us a free root beer as well. I also had a left over clementine to share as well. So with that we had an interesting little meal. After Wendy's we walked back to school and made it just in time for the buses to come and pick us up. It was a pretty nice way to kick off the weekend.

If only the knew muhahaha.

I just finished a book a friend let me borrow called How to Survive a Horror Movie by Seth Grahame-Smith. Now if you are a fan of horror movies or you some how came to be in one this book is for you. Its an extremely quick read but every last minute of it is worth it. You'll find yourself chuckling while reading this book and if you do it in a public place like school for instance onlookers will give you a good hardy wtf? look and walk away or they will be intrigued by such a book that teaches you all the skills to survive in a movie of horror.

A taste of what the book has to offer or if you are one of those people who hate to read I suppose you could just watch the little movies the author made on youtube come on you think those movies are going to give you all the knowledge you need to survive in a horror movie you are DEAD WRONG.

Yeppers its time for another update.

Last weekend I saw a truly amazing musical on our free OnDemand movie thing we get with cable. I tend to forget we have it but I've actually been using it lately. I've watched To Kill a Mockingbird, Dirty Dancing, and of course West Side Story so far. Now West Side Story may not be the best musical I have ever seen but it is truly amazing. This movie needs to be watched all the way through before a judgment is to be made. It is quite sophisticated for its time and almost foreshadowed on what the future had to offer for cinema. The musical is based off the famous tragedy Romeo and Juliet except its set back in modern 60s New York. The story and the music is simply beautiful and sends a powerful message. The only problem with this movie I would say that it starts off slow but once it gets its feet on the ground its something you can't take your eyes off of.

I just found out where this song came from. Ha ha I feel so lame.

I suppose you can blame this on boredom but I really don't get board I just like making these things I made outfits that fit with the ladies of the gangs in West Side Story.

I finally finished another book. YAY! This time it was The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray.
This was the last installment of a series that is called the Gemma Doyal chronicles. Let me just say this held no dissapointments. It exceeded all of expectations like I said when I last mentioned this series that this series should have movies made from it not Harry Potter,Twilight, or Narnia. These books are much more enchanting then those series could ever hope to be well maybe not some of the Narnia books. Lets face it the same thing happens in every Harry Potter book and Twilight I'm not even going to touch. Anyways lets get back to the book itself to give you an idea the book is set in Victorian England which with that alone this book would be amazing but an extra coolness was added to it and that would be magic,mystery, and mythology. I'm sorry if I'm being vague but its just one of those books that a simple detail can give it all away. I would love it with Libba Bray would write another book to the series years from now because I feel that there are so many things left unanswered. I highly suggest that you add this book to your reading list. I would start out with the first installment though called A Great and Terrible Beauty and if you don't like it move onto to another book and leave this series alone.

Whats this? Cosmogirl is no more. Thats right for those of you who care Cosomogirl magazine is no longer to be published. It has decided that more focus will be put into Seventeen magazine. I found out by getting this flyer in the mail that stated my Cosmogirl subscription would be finished up with Seventeen. I'm a little annoyed to be honest I'm not really much into Seventeen magazine and I found that Cosmogirl had a little bit more substance. Oh well, I guess if I don't like it I can always use it to make collages.

REPO!The Genetic Opera/ The Fabulous Stains

Yes, I finally got to see my Repo! The Genetic Opera and sadly I'm a little dissapointed in it. Now, don't get me wrong most of the actors and songs are an A+ act but sadly there were several songs/actors that ruined it for me. Plus I have a problem with some of the song lyrics and dialouge in the movie.

Actors to be praised:

Anthony Head-He did an amazing job as Nathan/Repo Man. He made the role I honestly couldn't think of anyone else to play the role except him. Did an amazing job potrying someone with two personalities. On one hand we have a father figure kind of like Giles from Buffy and the other hand wwe have a deranged psychopath like Hannibal Lector. He was just amazing in the role kudos to you Anthony Head.

Alexa Vega- Did a good job but I feel that she could of done better in her role. Kind of amazing that this is the same girl who was in all those spy kids movies. Vocally wise she did good but you don't really get to see that the girl has pipes till the end.

Sarah Brightman- She is the only one in this movie who actually has an operatic voice. She outshines almost everyone in this movie and deserves much kudos.

Terrance Zdunich- One of the creators of the original musical that inspired this movie. He did an amazing job and usually stole every scene he was in. Also he probably has one of the most interesting charachters in the movie.

Actors not to be praised:

Paul Sorvino- Probably one of the things that bugged me the most in this movie is his singing. Every time he began to sing during a song it just became awkward. Lets face it he may be a good actor but he can't really sing which really annoyed me.

Paris Hilton-Not that I need an explenation but why not. Lets face the girl can not sing or really act. She was basically playing herself through out the whole movie. That isn't acting at all.

I was going to anaylis the songs but I'm much too tired for that now. Oh well here is a a fan made video with the song "At the opera Tonight in the background if you can stand the video then you can probably stand the movie. WARNING: The movie is very bloody and gruesom so if you have no stomache for organs being ripped out don't watch this video or the movie.

Last Night I was lucky enough to catch a rare Jem of a movie called "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains". If you haven't heard of it then you are not alone because its kind of underground. I was able to catch it last night on Turner Classic Movies. I love that channel. If you want to see this spectacular movie you can rent it from blockbuster online or you can hunt for it online.

The ending of "Ladies and Gentlemen,The fabulous Stains" I love that girls jacket and she has cool hair. Also the song is catchy and I adore the 1940s uniforms.

I've been meaning to post this for awhile now but, I always seemed to forget to do it. Coney Island amusement park is no more. (Pauses for a moment of silence) *tear*. If you have no idea what I'm talking about Coney Island is the amusement park and was the first of its kind. This is the birthplace of the hot dog. After many years of decline the owners of Astroland amusement park which is one of the parks that made up Coney Island has finally decided to close the gates and to sell the park to developers. In hope of renovating the peak to its former glory. All I'm saying is they better keep all those old rides such as the wonder wheel and the cyclone.

Possible future for Coney Island. -_- Looks like every other piece of crap amusement park. Though I will admit that motorcycle coaster looks fun. Ok,that can stay but they have to keep some of their signature rides like the wonder wheel and the cyclone and what about Dante's inferno ride. What shall be the fate of it all those darkrides? Also this bugs me but is that supposed to be an i-pod banner of that lighter tower *shakes fist*. That tower should not be used as a cheap advertising space damn it.

I need a hug now! :(

In other unimportant news! "Mom Says Doll Has 'Sexually Suggestive' Message" Gee who would of thought?

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A local mother who got a Bratz doll for her daughter said on Friday that she noticed something inappropriate on her child's new toy. She's my favorite doll," said 7-year-old Breana Staley.
Breana said she loves her Bratz doll Cloe's soft hair and outfits, but her mother says part of the rocker doll's outfit is out of line.

Victoria Staley said her daughter's doll's belt buckle reads "Enter."

"The belt buckle," Staley said. "She's like, 'Why does it say 'Enter?' What am I supposed to do?"

Staley said the word on the buckle is just too "sexually suggestive" for a 7-year-old's toy.

"She doesn't need to know about that," Staley said. "I don't think it's the right message for children at all."

She said if she had known the belt buckle said that, she wouldn't have bought the doll.

She said she took off the belt and let Breana keep her new Christmas present.

"She's in a band," Breana said. "She plays with her friends in a band."

Staley said that when she called the company, MGA Entertainment, a representative told her that the belt is supposed to be that way.

"The way he was explaining, it's supposed to be like a seat belt," Staley said. "Like how a seat belt in a car has enter, you enter the seat belt. I'm like, well, you're still entering."

Staley said the Bratz maker offered her a couple of free toys, but she said that's not enough.

"I just wasn't going to let it go," she said. "I don't want them making that doll anymore."

This is again proof that I would make a horrible mother because if my daughter had a doll with a belt that said "Enter" I would probably laugh my head off. I probably wouldn't have bought a doll like that in the first place and if I did I would of taken the belt off when I would have to open up those obnoxious boxes that the dolls are put in. The thing is children are more likely influenced by those around them rather then the media. I would calmly explained to the 7-year old girl that the belt is something durAgative and is insulting to girls in general. If the girl was a little bit older I would of given her "The Talk". I sometimes wonder if adults remember whats it like to be a child and that children are not always as innocent as we would all like to believe. They are trying to figure out about the world around them and stumble onto knowledge that adults try to hide from them. It just confuses them more when they confront the adult about something and the adult refuses to give it to them or give them false information. Now don't get me wrong I have morals and I would never show a six year old a movie like Kill Bill but, as the child go older I would slowly expose them to the world around them instead of trying to shield it from them. I just think adults tend to protect children's innocence more for their benefit rather then the child's.

Also seriously what kind of excuse is the belt is based of car seat belts anyways. I've never seen a seat belt that said "Enter" they've only had "PRESS" which would probably been worse.

So now Obama is now our 44th American President! *Waits for cheers*
Well the guy has a tough job ahead of him. Lets hope for the best.

How interesting I got this result because I just recently viewed RENT for the second time ever. As far as musicals go I can't say I could ever really get into this one. Its good but it never really captured my interest. I would love to see the stage version of RENT one of these days.

I a stumbled on it by accident but, I really want to know was this what the posters actually looked like when the movie came out? It's awful the dress, the weird beast figure in the clouds and not to mention the enchanted objects are not the right size. Ugh it's awful and is a disgrace to the movie.

Yeah no offense to Emo kids but, this reminds oh a story my mom was telling. You see when I was little my mom took me to this place that had all these wild animals kind of like a Safari. During this road we went down there were these emus the came down and tried to eat our antenna.Yeah so when my mom is retelling it these days she keeps saying emo instead of emu. It sounds like she is saying"The Emos were trying to eat our car antenna."

Wow another year has already gone by. I always get a little depressed around this time because I always feel like its been a waste no matter how much I've done. I think its because I want to accomplish and do so many things and I know there will never be enough time for me to accomplish them all. :(

Anyways enough of the depressing buisness. Christmas has passed by and I was unable to post all the little things I wanted to post oh well there is always next year.

Well anyways my hall for this year was fantastic.

I finally had a chance to go see The Curious Case of Benjamnin Button and guess what it was amazing. It was cinema at its best. This movie should at least be viewed at least once. I can see that it will be a classic for years to come. Cate Blanchett held a steller performance along with Taraji P. Henson. One of the best movies of the year/decade. There were some really heartbraking moments that made me cry. The cinematogrophy is fantastic as well. Just a gorgeous film all around.

Another movie I saw was Marley and Me. Now this is a movie I wasn't expecting to like. Marley and Me may not be a great piece of cinema and it may not be remembered for years to come, but this movie has heart. In all the previews it makes the movie look like another lamebrain comedy, but that is so far from the truth. If have had dog or heck any kind of pet then you will most likely at least enjoy this movie. I cried during this movie which honestly is'nt that suprising because I do that from time to time, but almost the whole theater was crying their eyes out towards the end.

I also got a chance to go to some place I've been meaning to go for some time and that place is the Whichwich which is a sanwhich place similar to Subway and Quiznos except its 50 times better. You got to this stand that holds all these paper bags for subs and you choose from a catagory such as chicken,beef,turky,vegetarian,etc. Anyways you fill out all these options on the bag such as white/wheat bun what toppings you want on it or what condaments then you take it up the counter and pay. Then they take the bag and someone makes the sub then they put in the bag and bring it to you. I had the most delicious BLT sub. I'll just have to go there again sometime.

I was able to finish two books so yeah here are my reviews on them.

The first is Nick and Norahs infinite playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan which tells the events of one night between the two chaacters Nick and Norah. This is probably one of the most hilarious things I've ever read. Its uplifting and funny but, it is not anyway comes across as stupid in any point. The book is told in a witty fashion when its being told by two points of view. The chapters switch off from Norahs to Nicks point of view. The book is one of those romantic comedy type of things but, don't worry it never gets mushy. Its a pretty quick read so if you are one of those people who want to read something quick and short this is the book for you.

Another book I read was The things they Carried by Tim 'O Brien. This is a bit of a memoir in way because this is O' Briens retelling of the Vietnam war he had to go and fight. It talks about his experiences of the war and the stories of the soldiers that were around him. Now this is a book I read for school so I probably wouldn't have gone out and read it on my own because I'm not much into war stories. Tim O'Brien was able to tell his tale in and engaging way. He does not really try to glamorise war and he doesn't slander it. He tells it like it is. The book is not told in chapters, it is told in short stories that connect into one. If you were not the type to read a whole book on war thats fine but, I would highly suggest you to check out the books and read some of the short stories. I highly reccomend "How to tell a war story" "Sweetheart of the song tra bong" "The man I killed" "The things they carried" and "On the rainy river".

Well I just recently dyed my hair red. Well I think it turned to more of an auburn but whatever. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing tomorrow. I think I'm going over to my firend Mercys so that should be fun.

Yeah this has probably been my longest time without posting ,but I've been busy but I say that in every post just about. Also my computer got infected by the evil antivirus 2009. It was awful :(

It is also extremly cold today everything is in the negatives it really sucks.

Ha I just started working on my friends Christmas presents I know I'm so on the ball considering that Christmas is now nine days away. I will hope you know that it involved a hotgluegun and that gluegun fired when it wasn't supposed which led to me getting a second degree burn. For my friends reading this you better like your presents darn it or else you will get hotglue in the eye.

Well as my top post says finals are such a bore and they honestly take way too much of my time its so teadious oh well I only have three days left of this nonsense.

To combat the boringness of studying I decided to watch some old movies I used to watch as a child on video. How sad that I just discovered we still have a videoplayer so I can do that.

First off we have Thumbelina. Now I used to love this movie as a child now that I watch I wonder why. I suppose the lack of plot is what bugs me the whole movie is about little Thumbelina and all the guys that have the hots for her that want to marry her.Seriously we have the freakin fairy prince, the angry toad with with pubescent mustache, the bettle, and we have that creepy mole. The other thing that bugs me is that she meets the fairy prince who looks like he got a haircut from a weedwacker for five minutes and she is suddenly in love and wants to get married. I guess you really get to know the guy riding on his bumblebee and sharing a two minute and so many seconds song. This type of thing in movies bug me 'but I am probably looking into a childs movie way too much. At least not all princess movies are not like this. Anyways despite this movies flaws there is a certain charm to it. The animation is very good but not quite up to disney standards in my opinion. Also there seems to be a lot of the same voice talents from Disney movies. I think the girl who does the voice for Thumbelina is the same girl who does the voice for Ariel which is amusing considering that both movies are based off stories written by Hans Christian Anderson.

Honestly you have to check this movie out. Its all heartwarming and cute. WOW! There were a lot of awsome children movies in the ninties weren't there.

Well I am sick still which has been what like 3 weeks now. I really would like to know what I have because it is really annoying. My dad says he is going to take me to the doctors tomorrow. My family is also getting our holiday pictures done tomorrow as well. I think its a pretty lame tradition that my family has to take these stupid holiday pictures every year so we can send little copies to our relatives.

Well so much has happened since my last post but I doubt you would want to hear about that so lets get to the fun stuff.

I have been able to finish another book and this time it was Rebels Angels by Libba Bray. This is the second instalment of the Gemma Doyle triology and I must say that Rebel Angels was much more enjoyable then the first intalment "The Great and Terrible Beauty". Just so you know what the book is about I'll give you a quick overview set in the victorian era Gemma Doyle a fiery young women who is sent to Spencer a finishing school for girls after an mysterious death of her mother. Everything seems to be normal untill Gemma starts having these strange visions the lets Gemma wonder is there more behind her mothers death and her mothers death. For me this book is the perfect blend of mystery,fantasy,historical fiction , and romance. The romantic element is more of a sub-plot in this series rather then the main plot. I love how each character is the series has their flaws and given that extra human element.Nothing in this book is painted in a black and white element you have grey. No one truley bad or good they are just people trying to do the right thing. I honestly can't wait to read the next and final instalment in the series. Out of all the teen literature books out there I would rather have this series be turn into movies then rather *cough* *cough* *twilight*. Libba Bray has been able to paint a rich and magical world that draws you in. I would suggest this book for any Harry Potter,twilight, fantasy, or victorian era fans.

Do you ever have the feeling that life is passing you by? Well I do and I hate it. The years seem to be going by so fast for more one minute its spring and the next its fall. I just find it all irritating for more. I am one of those people that beleives life is short and for those disagree then you were never truly alive in the first place. I sometimes wish I could freeze moments in time and they would never pass by. I just hate how everything is going by so fast. Pretty soon I will be off to collage and then god knows what. Then I will become thirty in a blink of an eye. I suppose that I wouldn't be so frustrated if I knew that I might possibly get to live to 75 if I'm lucky. I know I'm young and that these things shouldn't cross my mind but they do. I think I could live hundreds of years and I still wouldn't be satisfied with the time I got. SO many things to do so little time. I remember I got in a little argument with my friend about how dying people appreciate life more then people who are not. I think this is very silly because we should all treat life as something precious and not something that we merly get through. For all I know I could get hit by a bus tomorrow and die instantly. I suppose I have a childlike mind and I'm often very enthusiastic about the small things in life. I don't understand why people grow out of it. I never want that to happen because I feel that I would die inside if I let my wonderment for life go. I love seeing all the leaves in the fall turn into a bright ray of colors and flutter down from the branches in their little dance. I love the starts in the night sky and how they sparkle and gleam. I'm amazed on how people take these simple things for granted and just find them to be everyday occurrences.

On Halloween me and my friends went down to Denver all we basically did was go to one book store to another how cool are we?

While in Denver I picked up the latest issue of Gothic Beauty and The Picture of Dorian Gray Oscar Wilde

So after a month two months I finally finished a book.Yay! The book I read was The Heartbreaking work of a staggering genius by Dave Eggers. It was a very unique reading experience. I know the title is very cheesy but this book is a must read. The book is mostly a memoir but not completely what I mean is the author took the liberties of changing things in his life to make them flow better with the story. The story begins with the narrators mother dying of cancer and the way he paints this image is something that will stick in your head forever. Dave becomes in charge of raising his little brother Toph and decides that he wants to create a revolutionary magazine called MIGHT. The book is basically about how the people around the narrator affect his life. The book is told with a in your face type of humor that has never really been seen before in any book. Just look at the publication page and you might just get hooked into reading such an interesting one of a kind little book.

Later he caught the attention of Spielberg and the both of them struck up a business relationship that would result in the collaboration on countless films together.

Yesterday was the end of my color guard season. My marching band made it to semi-finals but not finals. Over all we placed 13 out 20 something. Which isn't too bad considering it's our second year as a school competing amd our first year in 5A.

I have noticed that there seems to be a trend in Female Halloween costumes and that trend is making all Halloween costumes for women something like a porn star would wear.Now don't get me wrong I am not a prude but I just don't like the fact that all skirts on these costumes end at the girls ass. I mean would it kill the people that make these things to at least have the skirt end at the thigh. I know I know. If you don't like it don't wear it.

What is worse is that they now make these slutty costumes for little girls. WHAT THE FUCK? Why do they make these slutty costumes for little girls are we trying to corrupt the youth of America now. A 12 year should not be dressed up like America's next porn star. I would seriously question the parent if they would let their child wear such a thing. If I was a parent I would never let my child wear something of that nature till she was 16 and even then I would still lay down limits. For chist sake these little girls can't even fill these costumes out, they should be dressing like little girls not like a freakin pin-up from playboy.

There is nothing wrong with this costume. I just love Gone with the wind and loved the fact that they have a costume like this for little girls.

It has often been argued that Lucio Fulci's 1979 attempt at a zombie movie was nothing more than a rip-off of George Romero's 1978 masterpiece, Dawn of the Dead. Fulci has always denied this and insisted that his film was more in tune with real zombies. Whatever the truth may be, its undeniable the amount of influence this one little film has had on the horror film industry and the help it contributed in further popularizing the zombie concept and spawning an entire genre on the subject.

The film also helped cement not only Lucio Fulci's career as a master of the macabre, but also Fabio Frizzi as a master Italian film composer. The entire soundtrack that he composed is rich in atmosphere and environment, incorporating a large amount of chanting and tribal drum beats to deliver the suspense. The main title (featured in this video) has gone on to become just as recognizable as other themes like Jaws, and Halloween.

AT # 7 is The music from the exorcist

Composer: Mike Oldfield

Contrary to popular belief, the familiar theme that most fans associate with the 1973 hit horror film, The Exorcist, was not actually written for the movie. The theme (Tubular Bells) was actually written by performing artist Mike Oldfield for his 1973 instrumental record of the same name.

One story goes that when famous film composer Lalo Schifrin finished writing and recording the score for The Exorcist, director, William Friedkin, was so disappointed with the finished product that he threw the reels out into the street calling the score "fucking Mexican marimba music". He was forced, instead, to use modern classical music, including Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

Regardless of where the theme comes from, it has become entrenched in our psyches ever since The Exorcist first premiered in 1973; and the film itself helped turn Oldfield's eerie composition into a smash hit.

In truth you could pull any piece of music that was written by Goblin out of the Dawn of the Dead soundtrack as a fine example of the magnificent song-writing in that film.

Ten years had passed after the release of the international sensation and culture-changing film, Night of the Living Dead, and director George Romero was gearing up to make a quasi-sequel to his iconic masterpiece.

Before production began he met and befriended Italian director, Dario Argento, who would provide some of the funds needed for the film in return for the international distribution rights. Argento employed the progressive rock band, Goblin--who had wrote the music for two of Dario's films--to write the music for the international cut of Dawn of the Dead.

Romero, unfortunately, only used a few pieces that Goblin had wrote for the US version of his film, but the selections were enough to help turn Dawn of the Dead into an even bigger sensation than Night of the Living Dead. Indeed one of the more notable qualities of the film that most people seem to mention is the energetic music that Goblin contributed. Their heavy rock compositions reflect an apocalyptic feeling that has yet to be equaled in any other film.

A movie I have never seen but now I'm kinda tempted to go rent and most likely scar myself for life. The music is very pretty though. Don't you think.

In 1980, Ruggero Deadato created what is inarguably one of the most controversial movies of all time. Its combination of authentic animal slayings and simulated snuff film footage (ala: Blair Witch Project) was something never seen before. So many people were mislead into believing that the actors were really killed that Deadato was forced to appear before an Italian judge with proof that they were still alive. The film is one of the most violent ever made and is still talked about to this day.

Ironically, while the violent nature of the film is at times nauseating, the average viewer can listen to the beautiful soundtrack with a desiredly more benign experience in mind. It's haunting and romantic themes contrast sharply with the overall nature of the film.

At the time when famed Italian composer, Riz Ortolani, made the music, he was no stranger to film composition. He had scored over a hundred films, and even won a Grammy and an Oscar nomination for his work on the 1962 documentary, Mondo Cane.

Yeah well yesterday I went to Elitch Gardens which is an amusement park in Colorado. I was able to go on their Ghost Blasters ride which was pretty fun. During those five hours there I hardly got on any other rides. I finally went to the Brutel Planet haunted house finally which was actually kinda scary suprsingly. While waiting I got to try this creation called zombie brains which is just funnelcake with strawberry sauce on top of it.

For my english class we read The Catcher and the Rye by J.D. Salenger
Which was fatastic. This book was the first ok its kind before that there was no book that dealt with that time period between child and adult. Now I have read lots of coming of age type of books and to put it simply this was the best one out of its kind. All those other books never seem to have the same depth as Catcher. I can see why it still has remained such a classic. I was not such a fan of the stream of coninceous writing in On the Road by Jack Kerouac but I absoloutley love how the story of Catcher unfolded.

For English we had to do this assignment for Catcher and the Rye and I chose to make a sundtrack for the book.

In truth, that honor should belong to Max Steiner's work on 1933's King Kong--which was one of the first films to have an extensive background score. Nevertheless, the inspiration that the Bride of Frankenstein has had on the horror music world is undeniable.

At the time, most talking pictures had little to no music, and what music they did have was usually played during the beginning credits. Some music had been written and arranged out of classical compositions for silent films on the old photoplayers, but much of this doesn't survive. In the early 1930s, film-makers reneged on incorporating music in their films out of fear that the audience wouldn't know where the music was coming from.

While the Bride of Frankenstein lacks any dark and distinct themes that are prevalent in most horror films today, it does, however, have richly romantic themes; and suspenseful music that successfully build up tense scenes. Franz Waxman's elegant scoring of Bride is a great piece of music film-history, and that's why its on this list.

This leads to how I finally got to see the movie Amadeus. The movie was amazing by the way. I'm aware on how inaccurate it was to Mozarts life but the movie never really said it was going to be based on his life.

Last night I went to see Death Note 2: The Last Name
It was pretty good but the series is still 100 times better in my opinion. This time there were not any annoying fangirls going to see it. So I didn't have to deal with all the constant clapping and cheering everytime a character that fanned over came on screen.

So today I went to this new GoodWill that use to be an old Walmart and pretty much went crazy with all the amazing stuff they had. I of course went to the book section and bought three books and a manga.

The books I bought were The Devil wears prada, The Stand, and Memoairs of a Geisha. I also got the fisrt manga of Fruit Basket for only 50 cents.

I also scored Rolling Stone Christmas lights which Ill have to take a picture of.I also bought this really cute black fashion sweater.^_0

Obama and banned book week

Well its obvious that I am a very busy person hence why I'm lucky if I post once a week. Oh well at least my post are pretty darn long so you have to give me credit for that lets see what to start off with oh yes Obama at my school.

Well It was a very interesting day on Monday when my mom dropped me off there was some guy in the parking that would stop you and make you state your buissness. There were four trained snipers on the roof of our school. About three or four kids were arrested that day. I witnessed one of them. The sad thing about it was I didn't even get a glimse of him at my school.

So even though I didn't get to see him in person my teachers went to the websites that were filming him live and they let us watch it. The first was blocked by the district of course because they don't want the parents to think that they would ever endorse one canidate over the other. Luckily another site was found so we all got to watch the end of his speech.

If you didn't know last week was banned book week. YAY! A week were we celebrate the right to read the books that have been banned in the past.

Obama coming to my school? Seriously?

Its true Barack Obama is really coming to my high school tomorrow. Yeah its kinda weird to find out. My school will probably make a big deal out of it or something. Oh well that is interesting to know.

I've been so bust lately with color guard. We had a game on Thursday against Horizon and beat them by one point. God! My school went apeshit over it and stormed the field. A kid got hurt in the process or something and there was some vandalism going on. Yesterday at practice we finished the drill for the show now all the color guard has to do is finish our work. Our rifle work is really hard to remember so I need to work very hard at it.

After practice my mom took me to some garage sale. I got this old Disney Pocahontas cup,a tie,a book on Greek mythology, and this old book on the night before Christmas with cute little illustrations in it.

Oh some big news I finally have an I-POD!Since I had my last one stolen I have been saving up for awhile now. It is one of the new nano kind. I got one in purple, Its kinda funny I didn't know about them till I went to purchase one. I was going to get the video nano but I couldn't find them I just saw the ones that looked like the old nano. SO I then I went to the sales clerk and asked if the they had the nano videor and she said the old one or the new one. I responded by saying the one that plays videos. Gosh I am sucha dork at times. ;P

Here is something I meant to post this Summer bu always forgot for some reason.It is by Katy Perry. Now if you are an American teenage girl you have got to be living under a rock this summer not to hear this song at least once. This song was playing all over the place. I have to say I love this song more for the beat then anything else but also kinda like how in your face it is. I am a bit surprised that this was played on all the main radio and video stations. It makes me think how far music has come. When I was working at KFC we had the radio on a regular pop station for once instead of the normal jazz station we always have it on. Apparently this song got played and offended one of our older customers. Now to tell you the truth I'm guessing they were teenagers during during the 50's or 60's a time when the pop music back then was quite scandalous which in today's terms is tame. It is interesting see the progression in music. It makes me wonder has it America's morals changed that made a song like this more acceptable or is it music that is changing and its just out in the open now instead of always being covered up.

Now Katy Perry is no lesbian. She could be Bi but I'm not sure. This song is about a girl who just got drunk at a party and just started doing stupid stuff. Now don't get me wrong I like Katy Perry but she is not the most talented girl that walked the planet. I have seen her performances live and the girl just doesn't have that great of a voice. I have a feeling she is just going to be popular now and her fame won't last. I could be wrong though she could be the very next Madonna.

I find out that she made the women in Alaska (Which has the highest number of rapes in the U.S.A) who have been raped pay for a rape kit. oH YEAH she is so for women rights. She also tried to get the city librarian to censor the books in the library. The librarian down right refused and Palin tried to fire her. Palin crossed a huge line there for me not only does she not give a damn about the poor women who have been raped but the bitch is against knowledge as well.

The wizard of Oz and other things

Today is the last day of Summer and I am watching The Little Mermaid right now. Gosh its been pretty hectic for me. Yesterday I had my first band competition all the way in Arapahoe. Our band made finals and got 9th place over all. Which I guess isn't too bad considering that our drill wasn't complete and the color guard didn't have all their flags or work done. Our costumes for color guard are really cool yesterday we were given lots of compliments on them. They kinda look like sexy prostitute vampire martian costumes. I would have to show a picture so you would know what I'm talking about. For lunch I got to go to a Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. I was able to get bread sticks, a soft chicken taco, a cheese roll, and a large drink for under $5. Over all great day except I was a little disappointed about making finals because I wanted to go to my friends homecoming at her school. Oh well.

P.S The person who invented chocolate covered gummibears should be shot. A horrible combination.

SO today was kinda hectic. I was doing a bit of cleaning ans then I sadly discovered my one gerbil Sally died. I have no idea from what but I was a bit suprised. We had a little funeral for the poor thing. I do feel sorry for her mom though the cage must be so lonely now. She isn't really use to beimg by herself. :(
I also collected my last check from KFC.YAY! I will never go to that place ever again. Ugh but Ihave no idea what to do with that ugly uniform any ideas? After that I went to Mcdonals to pick up a happy meal. I'm just that cool. The toy I got was one of those weird Madam Alexandra doll toys. I normally don't like those things but the theme was The Wizard of Oz so it was cool. I got the Tinman. :) ha the stuff thats on the happy meal box is kinda cool. There is something on it that tells you to make up your own Oz dance.

Some of the cover songs are splendid but others are just awful in my opinion. Of course Marilyn Manson's cover is still on the album. Probably for the fact that no one else could do it but him. All American Reject Jack's Lement makes me cringe. They are just tottaly off key and pretty much make the song sound like nails against a chalkboard. Amy Lee did a lovely randition of Sally's Song but it just dosen't compare to Fiona Apple's version. Fiona Apple really got under the songs skin she made it sound like she was really heartbroken about not having the guy she likes notice her. Amy Lee on the other hand she sang it very prettily there just wasn't that much emotion into it like Fiona's. I also like Flyleafs version of whats this on the album. They gave it a feeling like child wonderment to the song. I'm kinda torn between loving and hating the album. Some songs I love while others I hate. I might just leave it up to I-tunes and just buy the songs I like.

Now to move on to the new special edition of Nightmare Before Christmas! It was only time before Disney wanted to cash on the craze even more. Don't get me wrong I loe Nightmare before Christmas. I just don't like it when I see it pretty much shoved into my face everywhere I go. So the new special editon apperantly is much more of higher defanition. The thing is I don't see how it could could get even better from the version I have. It has the same exact special features as my old special edition ecept for a few things like the poem narrated by Christopher Lee that inspired the movie and a view of the ride that Disney turns the Haunted Mansion into during the season. So those two special features would probably be the only reason why I would see someone getting the new version instead of being satisfied with the old one. The thing that bugs me about this new special edition is now Disney now decided to slap on their logo before the opening credits. Now I know it is a Disney movie but for a long time they never claimed it as theres. It wasn't till it became more popular that they decided to. It would also just be weird for me seeing it now while watching it. I'm just accustomed to the touchstone logo and the music playing over it.

Oh the things to start out with there is just so much to choose from. Well lets start off with current events like the Republican VP canidate who came out of no where Sara Palin. Gosh Im so sick of hearing about her. People keep acting like she is going to be president not Mccain and then to her personal life. She was a beauty queen! Her nickname was Sara Baracuuda! How is any of this relevent to her being the next possible vice president? There are so many things that I against like her take on abortion and marriage but theser issues have been covered numerous times on other blogs so I won't say much about it here. I am personally pro-choice. It dosen't matter if you make abortions illegal it will just make women go to unsafe alternatives and I will never understand why people have so much hate toward they gays.

I will not say anthing about her daughter being pregnet at seventeen so I'll let this comic do the talking for me.

Lets get away from the politics and go to tonights MTV awards and how they are paying Britney back from making herself look like a fool from last year by giving her some pretty little awards. Lil’ Angel, a fruity floral by Givaudan’s Christophe Raynaud, has top notes of raspberry, cranberry, blackberry and pineapple; a heart of pear blossom, candied violet and sugared rose, and a drydown of lollipop accord, hinoki wood and crystal amber.

Music, a delicate floral by Honorine Blanc of Firmenich, has top notes of clementine and sparkling pear; a heart of jasmine sambac, sweet pea and honeysuckle, and a drydown of vanilla, skin musk and sleek woods.

Baby, a powdery musk by Firmenich’s Harry Fremont, has top notes of freesia, bergamot and white rose; a heart of orange flower, tiare flower and jasmine petals, and a drydown of white musk, soft woods, heliotrope, vanilla and violet.

The scents will each be available in two sizes: $45 for 30 ml. and $25 for 10 ml. A coffret, which includes solid perfume versions of all five, will be on counter later this fall as a permanent addition to the collection, and will retail for $60. “They’re value-priced to encourage multiple purchases,” said Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American Fragrances for Coty Prestige, adding, “While we’re not the first to launch multiple scents at once, I do believe that we’re one of the few to launch five extremely different scents at once.”

That position swims against long-held conventional wisdom in the industry that it is difficult to merchandise more than one fragrance introduction at a time at point of sale. However, Walsh firmly maintains that the novelty of the five figurines will be so compelling that consumers will be charmed into buying more than one.

In the U.S., the Harajuku Lovers collection will be sold in some 2,200 department and specialty store doors, including Macy’s, Nordstrom, Dillard’s and Sephora. The lineup will also be sold in 17 international markets, including Japan, the U.K., France, Australia, Germany and China. Worldwide, the scents will be in about 10,000 doors, said Walsh.

In the U.S., certain retailers — including Macy’s West — intend to install such fan-appealing features as 5-foot versions of the fragrance dolls and a photo booth where customers can take their pictures with the characters.

While Coty executives and Stefani declined to comment on sales projections, industry sources estimated that the collection would do upward of $30 million at retail globally in its first year on counter.

A print advertising campaign, shot by Craig McDean, will begin running in September fashion, beauty and lifestyle magazines. Stefani does not appear in the ads, purposely, said Walsh. “Harajuku Lovers is part of the world of Gwen Stefani — but it’s a completely different franchise than Gwen’s first fragrance, L,” said Walsh. “We wanted to make that clear. Each one of these scents has its own personality.”

Coty is also filming TV spots for the collection, although it is unlikely that they will be shown in the U.S., said Walsh.

Also key will be a comprehensive Web site, HLfragrance.com, intended to be an “interactive online experience,” said Leslie Oglesby, global director of marketing. The site will offer information about the fragrances and their creation process, as well as a scrapbook section, a style discussion board and downloadable tools and avatars, said Oglesby. Now that her five fragrances are finished, Stefani is considering a September runway show, although her newest project — baby number two with husband Gavin Rossdale — may interfere. “I’m hoping to do a show, but it’s right around when I’m due, so I’m not sure yet,” she said.

Given the success of Stefani’s first fragrance, she may end up heading into new beauty areas. “I would love to have a full L.A.M.B. beauty line one day,” said Stefani. “It makes sense. I’ve always loved doing my hair and makeup and getting all dressed up. When I have a party or an event to go to, getting ready is just as much fun as actually going out.”

But she certainly hasn’t forgotten her first love, music. “Right now I’m in the studio with the guys, working on a new No Doubt album, while working on spring 2009 for L.A.M.B.,” she said, adding that designing her apparel and accessories lines scratches a creative itch for her. “Music and fashion are both forms of creative and artistic expression for me. They’re similar in that they’re both never-ending collaborative art projects.”

Allow me to vent and rave for a second if you don't want to read it just skip this whole section. SO I am in Advanced Marketing and my teacher tells us that there are internships available in several different carrer fields and one of them is fashion design. I would love to do it but the only problem is it's in October, the month I have state for colorguard.Oh why did it have to be October it's just not fare.:( It would be nice if they could have something like this again but I highly doubt they will. I'm getting sick of my dad thinking that I am going to be some kind of big buisnesswoman! I am sick of it I honestly don't give a damn about becoming a millionair all I want in life is to be happy is that such a hard concept. I would be absolutley misrable having to wear a black suit everyday having to be stuck in a little cubicle that reminds me of a cage. Thats no life for me I would end up beating myself with a keyboard out of sheer bordem. Sure I want to own a buissness but it would kind of be nice to do it on my terms not everyone else. Maybe I'll try that thing with my choir teacher to see if I can go and audition for the state choir.

Ok so here has been my week so far

Saturday:colorguard practice 9-3 then work 4-11:30 I was exhausted when I got home

Sunday: Help did fundraiser at outback steakhouse by playing waitress.ha ha I feel sorry for the kids who voluntered and their parents bought them $15 worth of food and they all end up with chickenfingers and fries. Not me though because that is exactly what I ordered. I then went home did homework.I know I am so exciting.

Monday: Fourth day of school then colorguard practice.

Tuesday:School then I had to go straight to work. We were so slow last night.

Today: School ended at 12:45 and went home to sleep and do homework. I have colorguard tonight from 6-9.

Here are some more updates of my life
I am planing on giving my 2 week notice at work because I'm quiting. Also a classmate of mine is hosting a foreign exchange German student. I swear she has the cuttest accent that I have ever heard. I wish I had one and if I do it's a really boring one.

Gosh I've been so busy. I have been trying to past for awhile now but I never had enough time to do so. There are so many things I would like to put on here its just I don't have the time.

I got back from my third day of school and it seems like this year is going to be amazing. I seem to have changed so much as a person. All those selfconcious things I use to worry about are gone. Its a wonderful feeling. I can't believe that my summer is already over it seemed to go by so fast. Oh well whatever this school year brings I'm ready.

I love my schedule this year. I start off the day by going to World History and it just might be my favorite class. What can I say I love history. Then I go to my Advanced Marketing class. Then I go to Women's Choir. Then after that I have the best class you could have right before lunch which is Physiology and anatomy. I get to have lunch with my best buds. Then its right off to math which might be my least favorite class but the teacher is amazing. I then go to modern literature and finish off the day by going to symphonic band (a.k.a color guard). Hehe this might be the dorkiest thing ever but I have a top locker this year which never happens and its in one of the side hallways so its never crowded. This year seems to be destined for greatness.

I've already had homework this year but, the weird thing is I am kinda having fun doing it. I feel like such a nerd right now. Well that's enough about school lets move on to some randomness.

Ok before I forget here is my review for On the Road by Jack Kerouac.Ok for me the book might of been to stream of consciousness at times. So in other worlds I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. It was amusing to hear about all these places in Colorado that Ive been to like Colfax,Five points,etc. So the book is basically about the adventures that the main character Sal and sometimes Dean face on the road. The book really doesn't have a plot which is probably the reason why it bugs me a little. The book is completely based off Jack Kerouacs adventures on the road. It's almost hard to believe that all the stuff that happens in the book take place in the 1940's to 1950's.

Gosh I,ve been so busy. Hence why I have not posted anything in a long time.It's a shame really because I always have something to talk about or share oh well.

So lete see on Sunday my friend Nicole came over and we hung out. We decided to walk over to King Soopers so I could get the new Twilight book a.k.a Breaking Dawn because at Target it was $42 and King Soopers had it for like $17. I swear that book has become the new Harry Potter these days. So with Nicole'd discount I ended up purchasing that book for under $15 on hardcover. I was planning to go to one of those midnight parties where people do stuff like tie red ribbons around their necks and things like that but the release of the book completley slipped my mind. oh well she is suppose to release another books so I can go to one of those midnight release parties when that comes out. Due to the fact Im reading way to many books to even start reading Breaking Dawn I decide to let my friend borrow it so she can read it. After all she did get me a discount on it.

I also went to one of those coinstar things and emptied out all the loose change that I collect in my piggybank. Hey I use it for I-tunes money. Ill post whatever I buy with it on here so you can see how screwed up my music choices are.

After King Soopers we walked all the way down to Blockbuster because we wanted to rent a movie and sadly the movie we wanted that didnt cary. -_- It was Alfred Hitchcock's Phyco! WHY THE HELL DO THEY HAVE MOVIE LIKE EVIL BONG but they dont have the classic Phyco honestly what kind of world do we live in. I swear the movie at counter when I asked about it didn't know what I was talking about.So unable to find it we walked back home had hamburgers at my place. A little later we decide to go to another Blockbuster to see if they had it. GUESS WHAT??? They didn't.-_- So we finally broke down and decided to rent Rosemary's baby because it looked promising. It wasn't what I expecting but I kinda liked it but I don't think it completley fits into the whole Horror genere maybe more Drama/Thriller. I honestly think people are blowing this is the scriest movie I have ever seem way out or proportion.I just found out there is a book they took the movie from. I just have to read it now.

HIV, Van Gogh and six legged deer?

Okay so todays post is going to field with a bunch of random news from all over the world.

To start off a new Van Gogh painting has been discovered under another Van Gogh painting thanks to some kind of new X-Ray tecnique. It seems to be an unknown portrait of a woman that was pianted before he painted his famous Potatoe Eaters painting. Pretty Trippy huh? If you did not know Van Gogh was not a very sucessful artist during his time in fact he only sold about one or two paintings during his lifetime so I guess to save money he just painted over his paintings. It really makes me wonder what other paintings he painted over.

YAY there might be a possible cure for HIV! Article underneath.

"There is real hope that what’s happening in a Houston lab might lead to a cure for HIV.

“We have found an innovative way to kill the virus by finding this small region of HIV that is unchangeable,” Dr. Sudhir Paul of the University of Texas Medical School at Houston said.

Dr. Paul and Dr. Miguel Escobar aren’t talking about just suppressing HIV – they’re talking about destroying it permanently by arming the immune system with a new weapon lab tests have shown to be effective.

“We’ve discovered the weak spot of HIV,” he said.

Paul and his team have zeroed in on a section of a key protein in HIV’s structure that does not mutate.

“The virus needs at least one constant region, and that is the essence of calling it the Achilles heel,” Paul said.

That Achilles heel is the doctors’ way in. They take advantage of it with something called an abzyme.

Basically, their idea could be used to control the disease for people who already have it and prevent infection for those at risk.

The theory has held up in lab and animal testing. The next step is human trials.

The doctors still need funding to launch human trials. In the world of HIV research, that’s often where things fall apart.

“Clinical trials are very expensive,” Paul said.

“That is the worry of the researcher. This is what nightmares are made of – that after 30 years of work, you find it doesn’t work,” Paul said.

But so far, it is working.

“This is the holy grail of HIV research, to develop a preventative vaccine,” Paul said."

Now for the cute six legged deer.

"The deer, according to vets at Berry College, has six legs and was found over the weekend near Rome. The animal is recovering from wounds it suffered in the attack.

Vets believe the deer should be kept in captivity.

Due to the injuries, one of its two tails had to be amputated. The fawn has two distinct pelvises and uses one leg from each pelvis to walk.

Atlanta television WSB said the six-legged creature could be sent to the University of Georgia to be studied"

Well lets see to start off I got to see The Dark Knight last Sunday and guess what it was completley awsome. This was the best Batman movie the best Superhero movie of all time. It makes me wonder how on earth are they going to top this movie. Heath Ledger's performance was nothing but exceptional! He really does deserve to get an oscar for it or at least be nominated. He was truly terrifying as the Joker and in all honesty makes Jack Nicholson look like a fluffy little bunny.

Past Events and the Homeless

Ugh I wish this was all a joke. From the Rocky Mountain News.

"Hundreds of Denver's homeless could be cooling their heels in a movie theater or museum while the Democratic National Convention is in town next month.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless plans to get 500 movie tickets as well as passes to the Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature and Science and other cultural facilities for the people it helps.

Bus tickets will be provided for events beyond walking distance, said John Parvensky, the non-profit's president.

Many day shelters will have expanded hours during the convention, and big screen TVs are being donated to some shelters so patrons can watch convention goings-on without being caught up in the mayhem.

"We're trying to let folks know what activities are planned, and what other places they'll be able to go without being harassed," Parvensky said.

A two-day voter registration drive is also planned at shelters and health clinics to ensure that metro area homeless people have access to the polls in November.

Backers of the plan say it's a more sanitary and humane way to take care of people.

But not everyone buys it.

"It just sounds like another way to get rid of them," said Kayne Coy, 17, who volunteers feeding the homeless twice a week at Civic Center Park through the Food Not Bombs organization.

As for the convention, Coy said: "I've heard rumors that all the homeless people are going to be sent away to Aurora or somewhere else."

Parvensky vigorously denied that there will any attempt to hide the homeless during convention, which runs Aug. 25-28.

Tight security around the Pepsi Center means some homeless people will get booted out of their regular camps along the South Platte River. Then, there's the protests and parades.

"A person who typically sits under a tree in a park that is now occupied by 1,000 protesters won't have the peace and quiet they're desiring," Parvensky said. "Particularly those with mental illness can't cope with crowds."

Parvensky is confident Denver police won't target homeless people unless a law is being broken. Aggressive panhandling and begging for money in front of an ATM machine are both banned.

But he remains concerned for people's welfare.

"Our concern going forward is that the city doesn't control everything - the Secret Service plays a role," he said. "We don't know what will happen if protests get out of control and people get caught up in something they didn't intend to."

But some homeless people also aren't enthusiastic about the plan.

Ronnie Wand, who was panhandling across the street, said he will believe the free tickets when he sees them.

"I don't care," said the 62-year-old, who expects to land in jail for vagrancy during the DNC."

I seriously hope this is all a joke because it honestly sounds like something a four year would come up with. For starters if you are going to do something to hide the homeless do something that they actually benifit from. Set up some kind of work program that will give the homeless meals,a roof over their head, and even a little extra money. I,m not sure what they could do possibly help clean up the streets and buildings of Denver. Not only would would the homeless have something to do but we would also have a nice city. Not the best idea I know but at least its a better alternative. Why are we even trying to hide the homeless? We've had several different events that have happened in Colorado. Why should the Denver Democratic convention be any different? Shouldn't the homeless be a bit of a reminder for what we all need to do to stop this from happening. Then again there will always be some homeless no matter where you go. Share your thoughts?

Now I think that is enough of me ranting for today. Well last weekend I had band camp for colorguard. I don't really go off to a camp or anything. It just means our meetings are longer it take place for a few days instead of our single three hour meeting a week. Well anyways me scheduale was getting up around six thirty then getting off at band camp around three then having to go get a quick bite to eat so I can be at work at four and work till about midnight. Well on both days I stopped at Wendy's because it was the closest place to eat. I got a chocolate frosty, a chicken sandwhich, and fries. You know whats something I like to do with the fries and the frosty is well dip the fries in the chocalte frosty. I know it has got to be the fattest thing ever but it is really tasty.

You know what is something that I haven't posted alot lately is book reviews.

I just finally finished this book for my school's summer reading and all I can say is WOW! I was completley spellbound with this book and every time I picked it up I just found it hard to put it down. It gets straight to point which I like but anyways let me give you an idea what this book is about. Angela's Ashes is about the childhood of the author Frank Mccourt. Born into poverty in America Frank also known as Francis snd his parents decide to go to their motherland Ireland hoping to find a more promising future. This book is just simply about the horrors Frank Mccourts childhood in America and Ireland during the 1930s and 40s. In my opinion this book was written that even people with very short attention spands were able to enjoy the stroy ,but this is also a very depressing story as well.

The Last Unicorn is a wimsicle tale about a unicorn who starts off by living all by her self ina forest. Little does she know she is the last of her kind. To find out what happened to all her sister and brotheren she embarks on quest. Along the way the unicorn picks up several companions and not only do they help her to find what she is looking for they also help her learn a little about herself as well. This book is good for those who are a child at heart and still beleive that unicorns still roam the earth and for those who are just as enchanted by fairytales as I am.

Well this going to be a quick entry since I need to be going to bed soon. Im going to be so busy tommrow and Friday. I promise to fill you all in once I have time. I just wanted to share with you a video from a new artist named Kerli. I've known about her for a little while because my mom picked up this poster because she thought I would like the image. I did like it but since she is an artist I would never put it up unless I actually liked her music. It turns out I did and I hung up the poster on my wall. I even bought her cd on the first day it came out at Target. It was under $10 which made me jump for joy inside. I was also lucky enough to pick up Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice for under $4 as well. hehe I love shopping.

Lakeside Amusement Park

Here are the photos of Lakeside I took. Just like I promised. For those of you who don't know Lakeside is a 100 year old amusement park that resides in Denver, Colorado. It use to be called the Coney Island of the West and was called Denver's White City.

This is a cool lion fountain. It was most likely built between the 1950s or early 1960s I'm not sure.

My brother decided to put his head in the lion's mouth. lol

While I was there a family of geese decided to take a walk in the park.

This was once known as the star ride a ferris wheel type ride. If I remember right the ride was caught on fire around the early 1900s and therefore was shut down. Parts of the ride are still in storage but it will never operate ever again due to the parts for the ride are hard to find. There are only two star rides that still operate in the world.

Ugh I just back from work. Surprisingly my work wasn't all that busy for the 4th of July but I'm not complaining. In fact we were way busier yesterday and my throat even got soar from talking for four hours straight. I have the day off tomorrow except for the fact I have to get up for a meeting at work for 8:30 a.m.

Well I just wanted to post something that I have been meaning to post for months now but it has always slipped my mind. Wow I said I was going to update this a few days ago but I got sidetracked with work and everything that I have been doing lately but before I forget let me tell you about my time at the Greek Festival. Well when we got there I was starving from not eating anything all day so we decided to get some food. I had some fries with yummy Greek spices on them and a gyro. I had baklava for dessert which is a delicious Greek pastry with honey. Here is a picture of what it looks like I also drank a green tea drink mixed with pomegranate because it reminded me of this old Greek tale about the goddess of spring. a.k.a Persephone She is also my favorite goddess from old Greek mythology. Well to understand why the heck pomegranates remind me of this tale well you would have to hear it. Well after I was done eating we went to watch kids from the Hellenic Dance Academy of Denver perform some of their dances. By the way I found alot of the costumes that the girls to be wearing to be really chic. After doing that I looked around at all the stalls to see what was for sale. I was able to go home with this cute little bottle of perfume called Eros and a cool coin scarf.

The black one on the right is similar to what my bottle looks like.

This is almost exactly like my coin scarf except the coins on mine are silver not gold. I find the fashion possibilities with this coin scarf to be almost endless.

That was that. For the rest of the week I've been doing all sorts of things like yesterday I went shopping at the mall and picked up a few things like my Cherry Blossom body spray and lotion for $5 each and this a Paramore T-shirt. Tonight I went to Lakeside and I took pictures and well I'll post them on here when I get the chance. It is now 1:18 in the morning here so I should wrap up this post and go to bed because I have to go to work tomorrow.

Ok to start off with my poor kitty got a cut under her chin and she was bleeding all over the place but she seems better now at least. I also went to the Greek festival today but there will be updates about that tommrow. Now for more important things.

Gosh I’ve been so busy these last few days. On Monday I was called in for work even though it was my day off because a few people got fired for whatever reason. The good thing though I got to go home early because we were so slow. Then latter on I went to Lakeside amusement park with a bunch of friends. This year is its 100th season. Amazing huh? I’m hoping to at least go again this year so I can go take pictures of everything and post it on here. My one friend Mercy gets freaked out easily on rides that go upside down and rides that go up really high. So this means she is afraid of roller coasters. Well at least she isn’t afraid of the Merry-go-round in fact she owns that ride. When it was time to go on the Cyclone roller coaster she refused to go on , so for a good 10-20 minutes I was trying my best to literally drag her on the ride. The sad thing whenever I almost got here there she would manage to escape my clutches and run off. She complains about her arm and I complain about what I wasn’t able to accomplish. :( Well she did go on the roller coaster eventually but it wasn’t because of me it was because of my friend Nicole. She says she didn’t really do anything to make Mercy go on the roller coaster, but we all know that it was her Jedi mind tricks.

On Tuesday I came home after work and was surprised with tickets to go see the stage version of Sweeney Todd: The demon barber of Fleet Street. The show was of course amazing and I thought it was really interesting to see all the actors having to play instruments when their character wasn’t in the scene. I would have to say that would get tiring fast.

I finished another book and this time it was The Secret Garden by France Hodgson Burnett. The book starts off with main character Mary a spoiled selfish little girl that resides in India. Her parents really have nothing to do with her so servants mostly raised her. The servants must give Mary whatever she desires. When a cholera outbreak kills off all the servants and Mary's parents she is left all alone. With no relatives that live in India she is sent to live with her Uncle who lives in England and there Mary's life changes forever. The story is very inspiring and heartwarming appropriate for any age. This has become one of my favorite stories and anyone should read it.

Ello random peoples who come to read my blog.

Well I am currently right now very annoyed and disgusted.

I am disgusted because I have to wake up go down stairs and have to hear about two little girls that were gunned down for no apparent reason. What was the reason for all this? Why the hell did two little girls had to be gunned down for no reason at all while some freaking asshole lives on. Those girls had whole lives ahead of them. They could of been teachers,doctors,mothers, and well the possibilities are endless on what those two girls could of been. I always get very upset when I have to hear about events like this because to me it just doesn’t make sense. I know that things like this will always happen and that I might as well get use to it. No matter how many times I see it I refuse to get use to it because no matter how many times it happens its not right. Well here something that hasn’t been on any of my post for awhile its a book review, Well I decided to read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. The main character Tom sawyer is a mischievous boy who lives with his Aunt Polly in a small community. The book is basicly about all the little adventures Tom Sawyer has with his friends Huckleberry, Becky and Joe. Go figure. I found to the book to be cute in a way and would recommend it to anyone. After all it is considered an American classic. I was surprised that this book didn’t stir as much controversy as much as The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn because of how Injun Joe is portrayed but don’t let that discourage you from reading the book.

Hi there lovely peoples of the world. Its time for another entry.

Well I got out of school yesterday fot the summer finally. Geesh I thought I would never get out.

In German class my teacher was nice nough to give me and my friend Sam posters.
Sam of course got the awsome poster of Neuschwanstein while I get a pretty poster of mountain scenery.

My poster dosent it make you want to burst out singing"The Hills are alive with the sound of music".

Well after I went to work today I cashed my check and went shopping. I of course had to go to the Disney store and was sad to found out that it would only be open for nine more days and then would close forever. :( Its a shame because I gre up going to that store and by it closing its almose like Im losing part of my childhood. Oh well some good came out of it because it was closing down pretty much everything was on sale for dirt cheap. For example I got this cute Giselle bowl for $1.50 and 3 platic storage containers for the same price. I just love how Giselle was drawn in a Mucha style.

I went over to Hot Topic to see if I can find something of my liking. I remember going there in the past and I would always be in awe over everything but recently I just cant find anything to my liking. Well while I was browsing through the bargain section I came across this cyte choco kitty bag.

I got this thing for free panties from Victoria's Secret so I decided to use it today. I got a pair of panties with cupcakes all over them . I know Im weird. I also bought a water bottle because I need one espacially since I decided to do color guard this year and water bottle sure would come in handy with all those practices in the hot sun.

I also browsed around in Spencers even though I usually never buy anything there. Well my mom found this kickass shirt I just had to have. I thought it was $10 but it turned out to be $5.32. oh yeah I am such a nerd.

In the middle of the mall they have these hot air ballons that go up and down so I decided to take a few pictures of them because the mall is most likley going to close down one of these days and it was also part of my childhood.

HI there peoples of the world.

So on Wedensday night I went down to Denver's 16th street mall with some friends to see the live action Death Note movie. The movie was pretty cool and it was interesting to see how they took a whole series and turn into a movie well actually two movies but I havent seen the second one.

Just so you know it is subbed which means everyone is speaking in Japanese but there are words at the bottom that translates what they are saying so you know what the hell is going on. You can also find dubbed versions where everyone is talking in English but the English version just makes me cringe for the most part.

Today I saw two movies Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Baby Mama.

I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with my family. I thought it was pretty entertaining but I cant really compare it to the first one because I have never seen it but I will. Ive seen Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and liked that one but I have Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Before Indiana Jones started I got to see the previews for HellBoy 2, The Dark night and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. All movies I must see.

I saw Baby Mama with some friends it was pretty funny but it seems to be more of those for rent kind of movies.

WOO! I have only have two and half more weeks of school.Gah finals are going to kill me I just know it. Well Thursday was the first color guard meeting of the year. Since I have a new instuctor because my two instructors I got fired :( I have to learn to stuff differently which is annoying. My new instructor is actually pretty cool.She can play Mary had a little lamb with her rifle its the most amazing thing ever. In English class we are learning about Jack Kerouac and the beatnick movement. We had to write our own beatnik poem. Mine is kinda strange and just so you know there is some meaning behind it.Anyways here it is.

Its weird I know. During my summer I have to read two books before I go back to school. Im taking modern literature next year so I have to read On the road by Jack Kerouac and Angela's Ashes by Frank Mcourt.

On Friday I went to my friend Rage'a house and had a movie night. We watched Almost Famous, Detroit Rock City, and Final Fantasy:Advent Children. Yesterday I went to the Throntonfest. I got to have funnelcake and limeaid.^_^ Yummers! I had to leave early though because I had to go to work.-_- It kinda sucks having to grow up. I got this cool temoprary tatto of two pistols crossed on my upper back. Its suppose to last up to ten days. Ill try to post a picture of it later.

I finished another book so here is my review of it.

Glass is of course the sequal to Crank by Ellen Hopkins. We again Kristina after she has given birth to her son Hunter. Much has changed for Kristina. All the dreams and asperations she once had are now gone to the monster and the only life she knows now is the life of a young teenage mother. Kristina finds her life to boring and wants adventure. She wants more of the monster. This book has the same writing style and dosent seem to not offer much more on Kristina than the first book. It is a good book dont ger me wrong but it seems to be just basically the same book as Crank all over again.

So yesterday was Mother's day the day were all us ungrateful little children be nice and give our little moms a break. We took my mother to Cinzetties the most amazng Italian resturant ever.

So I got a job at KFC and Ive been basiclly spending my whole week working and training. The store that Im suppose to work at is still being built so right now I have to go all they way to Commerce city for training. The store Im going to work at dosent up till next Friday.

Well it has sadly been awhile since I last updated. Several times I meant to post something but I always was too tired with school and all. Well anyways like I do with most of my updates Im going to share with you a book review two actually.

First up we have Bleed byLaurie Faria Stolarz. I picked up this book from the library because it looked interesting but I was wrong. This book was just awful in my opinion. I kept reading on because I thought it would get better but I gave up on page 77 and ended up throwing the book in disgust. It seems the author Laurie Stolarz was trying to bring up important issues that teens deals with but failed misrebly. The charcters in this book are so one dimensional its disgusting. I find it such a waste that you see things from the characters perspective and all they talk about is clothes, boys ,and a bunch of other mindless stuff. I mean come on give us teenagers some credit we think about more then that.

In school we got to read the ever legendary "TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD" by Harper Lee. Knowing that I was proubably going to read this book in school made me not to read it before hand. What an amazing book I can see why it is so popular. In my opinion everyone should read this book. If you havent read then you are really misssing out. The book takes place in the South during the Great Depression. The narrator Scout a young girl witness life and events that take place in the South. Her father Atticus who is a lawyer is appointed to a case that will change his family's lives forever. This is a touching story about standing up for what you beleive in and learning how people really should act in soceity

Let's see some current updates of my life. I think I might of managed to get a summer job with KFC. I have to go to orientation tommrow. The reason why I dont know for sure is because after ny job interview the manager just didnt come right put and say "Well you have a job with us." He just asked for my shoe size and gave me direction and the time to go to my job orientation. He told me to call him after Im finished. Im not much of a fan of KFC but oh well a job is a job.

On Sunday Im going to a concert with my friend Rage. We are going to go see The Blue Cherries. Its a band from my school and its going to be their first concert ever. Its pretty kickass because I actually know the people in the band. They are pretty good just look beyound the crappy garageband quality of of their music recordings. If you are a metal or a fan of Demonhunter you should totally check them out.

I participated on the day of silence on April 25th. I think its so screwed up on how people treat people and disgriminate against gays just because they choose to have a preference to those of the same sex. I dont understand why people think thats wrong. I mean they are not hurting anyone all they are doing is loving someone. Now is that such a bad thing. While I was participating during the day of silence I witnissed something. I saw two guys that were brothers giving each other a quick hug and some girl goes out and says "OMG! Why did you guys hug? Are you like gay or something?" I was so appauled. What kind of soceity do we live in that two brother cant even hug because they are afraid of someone calling them gay. People kept asking me why I was staying silent through out the whole day and what good would of any of it do. Well I hope that if people participate it will make others think about how they are treating those who are different. Disgrminating someone because they are gay is no better then disgriminating someone because of their race,religion or gender.

I finished reading Jerry Spinelli's Love) Stargirl. This is the sequal to Stargirl if you havent guessed and picks up where the last book left off. Now for those of you who havent read the first book its a must. Stargirl has got to be one of my most favorite fictional character. Now Love) Stargirl dosent quite have the same magic like the first book did ,but its still worth the read in my opinion. This book is all written by Stargirl herself and is written in kinda of a diary/letter form. This book starts off after Stargirl leaves Arizona and now resides in a small Pennsyvania town. In the town Stargirl meets and befriends a series of interesting characters.

Ive been so busy that's why I haven't updated as much as I would like too.

To start things off more book reviews.

Lets start off the book Looking for Alaska by John Green. Its about a sixteen year old named Miles who goes off to a boarding school in Birmingham,Alabama. There he meets Chip and Alaska. The first real friends that hes ever had in his lifetime. Together Alaska and Miles to drink, smoke , and plan pranks. During the story we get to look into the life the mysterious Alaska and find out about an event in her childhood that has left her scared for life. The book isn't divided up into chapters but is divided up into days before and after the death of Alaska Young. This book has to deal with how one person can make such a huge impact on your life. I would highly recommend this book for anyone that is above the age of 13 or 14. Like Ive said before if you don't want to read anything about drugs,drinking,sex,etc. Then this book is not for you.

The next book I read was called Veil of Roses by Laura Fitzgerald. The book is about a young Iranian woman named Tamila Soroush sent to America by her parents to visit her sister. While in America Tami's sister and brother-in-law search the Iranian community to find a nice man for Tami to marry before her visa expires. Things for Tami aren't that simple and she has to learn to do what makes her happy instead of what is expected of her. This really is a cute and sweet little book.

While surfing the net I came across an interesting photoblog. I sadly dont understand what is written on the blog but oh well. The blog just reminded me of Veil of Roses thats all. Here is the link if you want to check it out.
